Mark Jones was taught how to write a television script by Gerry Anderson, the legendary producer of Thunderbirds. Mark created his first television pilot in 1984 (Starwatch) a science-fiction programme starring Jon Pertwee and Patrick Troughton which the BBC considered as a possible replacement for the then flagging Doctor Who.
Since then he has been involved in many more productions including Scott Saunders In Outer Space with Patrick Moore, Crudney & Co, Merlin’s Memories and The Twitchies. He is also an expert on rock music and has written for the Guinness and Virgin Encyclopaedias of Popular Music and has penned a best selling book on the history of film and television locations in what is now referred to as Midsomer Murders country.
Several years ago, Mark witnessed a number of work colleagues suffering from the effects of stress. This led him to intensively self-study this subject in-depth and the various therapies available.
Breathing and calming techniques were of particular interest and these have been applied to the Time To Sleep Stories range. The stories combine these techniques with the power of story telling to help children drift gently off to sleep.
Mark is currently working on a number of new projects – a new science fiction series is in development as are plenty of new children’s stories including Christopher Crankshaft, Melody Moon & Her Mum, Captain Cutlass And His Rocket Ship and Dixon Vole: Woodland Detective.
